Historian of science working at the intersection of computational methods and the humanities. I am a Paul Fortier Prize Winner in the Digital Humanities, an executive council member of the Association for Computers and the Humanities, and author of The Historian's Macroscope (Imperial College Press, 2015). I was previously Stanford Library's first data scientist and a research associate at the Huygens Instituut, and have published research in a broad range of disciplines, including folklore, philosophy, information science, history, and archaeology.
