Carnegie Mellon University’s institutional repository, KiltHub, was launched in July 2018. It replaced and improved upon the previous research repository, Research Showcase@CMU, which had been active for ten years. All content from Research Showcase was migrated into the KiltHub system, preserving metadata and usage statistics.
KiltHub is a comprehensive repository maintained by the University Libraries and hosted on the Figshare platform. Research in KiltHub can be assigned a DOI, and users can choose an open license like Creative Commons for their materials as well as take advantage of integrations with apps and tools such as GitHub, Overleaf, Binder, and ORCiD. Carnegie Mellon University researchers and their collaborators can use KiltHub to share the scholarly outputs and research data produced in the course of their scholarship to meet funder mandates and publisher requirements for open research. Under our team of specialists and librarians, KiltHub curates, collects, preserves, and provides open access to this material as part of the Libraries' commitment to open scholarship and collaboration.
