Digitization Services

Our Digital Collections feature a wide range of materials including newspapers, maps, manuscripts, letters, publications, and more. To date the University Libraries has scanned close to two million pages of resources, providing 24/7 access to thousands of researchers.

Service Details

Priority for digitization services is given to materials held by the University Libraries, Special Collections, and Archives in support of their overarching mission to preserve collections and make them accessible. Our services include digital processing, post-processing, preservation, and metadata enrichment. The Libraries’ Digitization lab also consults on project scope, and IP and copyright.

We have professional expertise in handling a range of materials, including but not limited to: photographic materials, transparencies, slides, blueprints, maps, illustrations, photo negatives, texts, manuscripts, newspapers, notebooks, and similar print media.

Whenever possible, we seek to make digitized content openly available by adding it to our online Digital Collections. Currently, we can accommodate requests for digitization up to 72” x 31.” For all requests, turnaround times depend on the nature of the material(s) being digitized, features involved, and our current workload.
