Chasz Griego is a STEM Librarian at the Carnegie Mellon University Libraries, where he supports researchers, educators, and students in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Materials Science and Engineering. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (Socorro, NM), and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. For his dissertation, he studied computational models that facilitate screening catalyst materials with quantum chemistry simulations. Chasz also leads and supports Open Science teaching and research initiatives at CMU, particularly in the areas of reproducibility in computational research. He regularly teaches and supports open source programming with Python for research.
