Ashley Werlinich is an arts and humanities librarian at Carnegie Mellon University. She serves as the liaison to Drama and IDeATe, and is the co-liaison to the Entertainment Technology Center and to the First-Year Writing program. She has a background in interdisciplinary humanities and the arts; After earning her BA in English literature with a minor in studio arts from the University of Pittsburgh, Ashley continued her passion for humanities and creative practices through her graduate coursework. She graduated with her MS in Library Sciences from UNC Chapel Hill in 2021 and earned her MA in English literature at UNC Chapel Hill in 2019 with a focus on early modern literature, book history, and history of medicine.
In her work, Ashley is passionate about fostering creativity and research on campus. Through her co-creation of the "Arts X Entrepreneurship" program with Jen McKee, Ashley has grown a support network for arts entrepreneurs on campus through workshops, resources, and consultations. Ashley also fosters library connections with students and faculty through her commitment to outreach; she hosts many outreach events on campus, including zine-making workshops, events, and is the founder of the library outreach working group. She also serves as one of the series editors of the Games division of the Carnegie Mellon University Press, alongside Jonathan Walton (CMU Entertainment Technology Center).
