A transformative renovation of the Sorrells Engineering & Science Library in Wean Hall has significantly expanded the amount of space to support student learning needs. The renovated library re-opened at 8 a.m., Jan. 17 and a grand opening is planned for February.
As of Jan. 17, final tweaks are still being made to the space, including:
- Printers and scanners are still coming in and should be fully functional within a few days.
- Some of the furniture currently in the space is temporary and will be replaced by new furniture by the end of the month.
- Group study rooms are currently available on a first come first serve basis but will be added to our online room reservation system in the coming days.
- Work will continue on the Portal, the large wooden structure next to the librarian offices, and the Den, the large room at the back of the library. The library will be closed at the following times to facilitate the completion of these features:
- Wednesday, January 25th from 10:00pm to 6:30am
- Thursday, January 26th from 10:00pm to 6:30am
- Friday, January 27th from 10:00pm to 6:30am
- Monday, January 30th from 10:00pm to 6:30am
- Tuesday, January 31st from 10:00pm to 6:30am
- Wednesday February 1st from 10:00pm to 6:30am
- Thursday, February 2nd from 10:00pm to 6:30am
- Friday, February 3rd from 10:00pm to 6:30am
