Obsolete Technology Petting Zoo & the Library of Things

Step back in time by typing on a typewriter, watching a slideshow, listening to a cassette tape, and exploring a variety of obsolete technologies. As you experience the past, learn about the many resources the CMU Libraries offer today—from physical collections and study spaces to databases, streaming services, and other online resources. You can also discover our new Library of Things collection, where you can borrow everything from puzzles and games to technology and wellness items.
Explore the CMU Architecture Archives

Find out which Pittsburgh skyscraper you are. Interact with drawings and archival material from the Architecture Archives including a letter by Frank Lloyd Wright, drawings of the original Ferris Wheel and models of proposed CMU buildings.
