Carnegie Mellon University Receives Generous Donation to Support Research and Special Projects at University Libraries

Carnegie Mellon University is pleased to announce a generous donation from Matthew (ENG 2005, 2005) and Sarah Brockmeyer, which will provide significant support for research and special projects at the University Libraries.

The Brockmeyer Family Endowed Libraries Research and Project Fund will support collaboration between the faculty of the University Libraries and CMU graduate students, post-doctoral students, faculty members, and visiting faculty members. This fund will foster new opportunities for academic collaboration, enabling researchers to access critical resources, and engage with the unique collections and services of the Libraries.

“We are deeply thankful to the Brockmeyers for this transformative gift,” said Keith Webster, the Helen and Henry Posner Jr. Dean of University Libraries and Director of Emerging and Integrative Media Initiatives. “This endowed fund will serve as a catalyst for new ideas and research, helping to advance knowledge across the university’s many disciplinary strengths. Matt and Sarah’s commitment to academic research and intellectual growth will have a lasting impact on Carnegie Mellon, and we are thrilled to be able to continue our mission of supporting groundbreaking work in our research community.” This significant donation underscores the Brockmeyers’ dedication to fostering academic excellence, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, and empowering the next generation of scholars and innovators. By supporting both long-term and immediate research projects, the funds will provide flexible and enduring resources for a wide range of academic pursuits.
