CMU Libraries is excited to announce that OpenAthens authentication will be available beginning January 2024.
OpenAthens is a modern single sign-on (SSO) access management tool that simplifies remote access, enhances security, and ensures seamless access to electronic resources, including databases, electronic journals, and other subscription resources.
Resource links in the library catalog and the Database, eResources, & Tools A-Z list will gradually be updated with OpenAthens links when available. Resource platform/ journal websites often present an option to 'Log in through Institution.' When this is offered, select OpenAthens federation, and Carnegie Mellon University Libraries.
CMU users will continue to log in using their Andrew credentials, and should not notice any differences in library resource access. Very little disruption is expected, but please contact the eResources team if you have any questions or see these FAQs for additional information:
