And the name of our repository is...KiltHub! On April 13, the University Libraries announced the winner of the repository naming competition in the Hunt Library Lobby as part of a series of events for National Library Week. Built on the figshare platform, the repository is intended to be an online archive that provides open access to the scholarly work being done at CMU. The naming competition ran from February 28 – March 24, 2017 and was open to all members of the CMU community. The competition received 51 total submissions, including 27 submissions from faculty and staff and 24 submissions from students. A committee comprising University Libraries and campus leaders evaluated the entries. The winning name was submitted by Felipe Gómez, Associate Teaching Professor of Hispanic Studies, Department of Modern Languages, Dietrich College. As the winner, Gomez will select either $500 in research/travel grants or piece of technology as his prize.
