Three of the five air handlers in Hunt Library are being replaced by newer, larger air handlers needed for better ventilation and air flow in the building. To accomplish this, the air handlers, which manage heating and cooling of the building, will be turned off and decommissioned. For this reason, this work is scheduled during the fall semester, when temperatures are mild.
Work will take place over the course of two weeks:
- Week One: September 23-27, Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 2 a.m.
- Week Two: September 30-October 4, Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 2 a.m.
During this time, though the air will still be moving, it’s possible that the building will be warmer or cooler. To accommodate the new, larger air handlers, the current concrete pads will be removed by jack hammering. This will be noisy work and we apologize for any disruption.
